Well I am new here today, and I am so thankful that I found this website, knowing that I am not the only one in this type of relationship. I am not ashamed nor embarressed, you can't help who you fall in love with!

I just want to know if there are many more people who are having a relationship with a parent, because alot of the relationships that are talked about are brother/sister ones. What about the other types!! I would love to here from some people and there and what there experiences are.

There are a lot of parent/child GSA cases. More mother sons than father daughter, but they are out there. Sometimes their stories come to me in PM instead of posts.

There is much more guilt in these relationships that in sib relationships.

Prayers

One more message for all who know me and those that don't know me but know of me. This is an especially hard time in my families life as my reunited son has been batteling brain tumors for a few years and is at the end of treatments other than one more attempt to shrink this third one.

He is a believer in Miracles and prayer. Prayer has carried him through this illness for a few years now but we are down to Miracles now and a short prognosis, so please all of you who talk to our Creator, ask for His will to be done whether it is to leave him here or take him home and that Gods his spirit will remain with him and his family to get through their hard times.

He is a delightful man that is truly one of Gods Masterpieces. He is a talented artist, a loving husband and father to his young children. A good son to his parents and shares his humor with everyone which makes him a true gift from God.

Thank all of you for your thoughts and prayers.

Barb,

You are right when it does come to these kinds of relationships especially father/daughter ones there are a whole wide mix of emotions, including guilt.

After being reunited with my dad after so many years, not seeing him since I was a baby, I never thought that our relationship would take the twists and turns that it has. I didn't mean to fall in love with him, and we didn't meant to fall in love with each other, but it happened and we are happy and comfortable with the relationship that we have. The physical aspects just makes are love even more deeper. I know that to many people it just doesn't make sense, but are feelings are genuine and real. I think that the most important thing is the two people in the relationship, we are not hurting anyone and I don't feel guilty or ashamed. I just except the deep feelings we have for each other.

It just feels good knowing that we are not the only ones facing a similar situation.

I am in a relationship with my b-father too. We have been together 13 years and seem to share your view of the fact that we are not hurting anyone either etc. Neither of us were married or in relationships when we met. So just to let you know that it can be a 'happy' ending....

Have not visited the site for a long time, but wanted you to know that my thoughts are with you in this difficult time. Although I am not religious, I know that prayer and believing in God can comfort and help. Miracles can and do happen for whatever reason, so stay strong and know that you have made a difference in so many lives through this website.
